Cleansing, Therapeutic Benefits of Salt Inhalation Therapy Now Available for In-Home Use
Award-winning KLAFS Microsalt SaltProX, available from Design for Leisure, turns any space into a halotherapy (salt therapy) room, empowering consumers with a simple self-care treatment that can be done at home
Austin, TX – March 25, 2020 – KLAFS Microsalt SaltProX is a portable, rechargeable version of their professional-level Microsalt system that can turn any room in the house into a halotherapy (or salt therapy) treatment room. Regular salt therapy, particularly in conjunction with a hot sauna or infrared therapy pod, supports the immune system by providing a natural cleansing and anti-inflammatory effect on the lungs, and is also believed to improve common skin disorders, including acne, rashes and eczema.
“Visiting or staying near the seaside is always reinvigorating – not only for being out in nature, but, notably, for the positive health benefits of breathing in the fine salt in the air,” said Don Genders, CEO, Design for Leisure (DFL), KLAFS exclusive U.S. partner. “With KLAFS SaltProX, any room can be transformed into a personal halotherapy room.”
“In a time when our homes have truly become our ‘safe havens,’ we’re pleased to be able to offer more people the opportunity to take advantage of high-quality salt inhalation therapy that previously was only offered at luxury spas and wellness centers,” continued Genders.
The concept of salt being beneficial to lung health originated in the mid-1800s in Europe when a physician observed that people who worked in salt mines rarely suffered from respiratory problems, such as asthma, COPD, hay fever or coughing.
To truly benefit from salt therapy, the salt needs to be present in the air itself – something that is achieved by introducing finely powdered salt via a halogenerator like the SaltProX. “Though pink Himalayan salt walls look great, they don’t provide any health or wellness benefits because salt isn’t actually being inhaled,” said Genders.
The Microsalt SaltProX’s invisible grinding technology generates a particularly fine salt aerosol, which then spreads gently throughout a room. The natural rock salt used in the SaltProX is 99% sodium chloride, the highest purity level available in nature. When inhaling, these minute salt particles – unlike conventional salt applications – spread across the entire respiratory system, from the nose, the sinuses, the throat to the extreme lung areas and can have an expectorant effect. Use of the SaltProX can also have a cleansing and revitalizing effect on the skin.
KLAFS SaltProX is recommended for sufferers of hay fever, asthma, bronchitis, cystic fibrosis and other chronic lung disorders. Salt therapy is said to boost the immune system and is also considered helpful for people suffering from frequent colds and sinusitis. However, please note, salt therapy is not a cure for respiratory disease, and, instead, delivers benefits for those seeking lung health. In addition, while there are many clinical and scientific studies conducted on dry salt therapy (halotherapy) throughout the world, the FDA has not evaluated/approved these statements.
The Microsalt SaltProX produces a sufficient salt concentration to fill a 500 cubic feet space and requires air with less than 40% humidity. SaltProX retails for $1,995 and can be ordered here.
