Sauna in the Summer

Voluntarily sweating in the summer? It may sound unusual, but it’s very beneficial. Because sweating regularly strengthens your metabolism and immune system.

Time in the sauna with your family or partner is worth its weight in gold. Even in the summer months. What many people don't realize is that the heat on a hot summer day is very different from the heat we experience in a sauna. While the heat in a sauna is dry, the air outside typically has a high level of humidity. If you continue to use the sauna even when it’s hot outside, there are many benefits for your overall health and wellness.

Like a Workout for Your Body

Sauna-ing in the summer months is not only fun, it’s also surprisingly refreshing. The difference between sweating in the hot humid summer air and a sauna is not just the dryness, it’s also the entire journey, which should include cold contrast therapy to boost the overall health effects.

Entering the sauna throughout the year trains your body for the heat. Your circulation stabilizes, your blood vessels dilate and your muscles relax. Another advantage: Our bodies get used to the high temperatures enabling us to better tolerate the hot, hot summers we’re now having worldwide. So, if you sometimes have circulation issues in the heat, it’s recommended that you use the sauna regularly throughout the year.

Drink Plenty of Fluids!

To support the sweating, it is advisable to drink plenty of liquids before going to the sauna - ideally tea or water - and when taking longer breaks between each sauna session and after the last session. It is important to make up for the water loss.
