Green Initiatives

Modern spa culture is constantly referring to nature, be it products, treatments or therapies, there is a distinctly ‘back to nature’ ethic within the industry.

Design for Leisure believe wholeheartedly in sustainability and support initiatives that enable a spa to take a holistic approach to such issues and enable them to operate in ‘green’ buildings made with and powered by ‘green’ materials and products.

Some points we would like you to consider:
  • Waterproof guarantees of 5 years or more mean we get it right the first time.
  • Monobloc thermal cabins have superior R or U insulating values to traditional drywall or cement board construction.
  • Monobloc thermal cabins are freestanding structures with no thermal leakage to the fabric of the building, meaning the generated heat and humidity stays where is should, in the cabin.
  • High thermal efficiency = low energy consumption = low operating cost
  • Factory prefabrication means waste materials stay in the factory, where they can be recycled – 100% of waste created by our thermal cabin construction system is recycled.
  • Saunas can be insulated with natural cork or sheep’s wool and all wood is from professionally managed sustainable forestry.
  • Infinitely adjustable power settings on equipment ensure that only the right amount of energy is used, thus minimising service periods, extending the life of the equipment and maintaining maximum efficiency and use of energy.
  • Fully serviceable products ensure long life through planned maintenance programs.  All components are individually removable and replaceable for economically efficient operation with the additional benefit they are recyclable at the end of their useful life.
  • All products are prefabricated for fast, efficient on-site assembly by our professional teams, minimising shipping volumes.
